For a maxi, damn does this skirt show a lot of leg (I'm talking Angelina Jolie style). The thigh-high split has never really been my 'thing', until now that is. You'd know that my style is very rarely anything other than relaxed, so when I spotted Free People's Novella Royale Viva Solid Slit Maxi skirt the inner stylist in me lit up. Its cotton-look (made from recycled fabric, of course) and elastic waist makes it a little less sexy and a little more casual - perfectly acceptable daywear. I have to admit pairing it with a simple crew-neck tee, boots and vintage belt, made me feel a little too cool. And if you're not yet swooning, the super duper high slit gives the maxi skirt a new lease during these hot summer days (which is saying something since I'm sweltering in this post-Canada heat).
If you haven't already checked out the brand new short fashion film by Free People I highly suggest you don't unless you want to fall in-love and be seduced into expanding your fedora hat collection (I suggest you start here). In other words, watch the film!
