It's a complete misconception that style has to be expensive, and it's online boutiques like Market HQ that continue to prove just this. And so, I present to you the third and final summer series look in collaboration with Market HQ. Summer style to Danielle and I is about playsuits and skater dresses, ombre and floral textures, cool shades and fedoras, and, of course, leather boots (despite the Aussie heat).

The feedback I have been getting from you, my lovely readers, is pure shock that the threads featured during this summer series have all had a price tag of under $100. And you know what? We can hardly blame you - even we were surprised!

And just incase you're only just tuning in, here is part one and part two of our summer collaboration with the über cool Market HQ.

My look of the day:

Can you believe I've been wearing the same summer sandals since I was, umm, 17? Luckily for me, there is no better excuse to buy a new pair than an impending tropical holiday. So, you ask, why the heck did you buy a pair of chelsea boots too? Well, because there is no better excuse to buy a new pair of boots than an impending winter holiday. Confused? Yeah, I'll let you hang for a while. Or you could just stalk ye ole Insta-Insta.

Anyway, I've been searching for the perfect pair of, yes, boots and sandals for a while now, and Wittner once again has answered my prayers. And what's even better? The sandals (found here) are on sale. Woohoo!

Needless to say, I absolutely can not wait to wear them in Singapore and Japan (yep, dropped the ball there)! I can't believe Brad and I leave on another big adventure tomorrow, the first of many in 2014. Be sure to follow our travels on-the-go on Instagram.

In all seriousness, when did hats become cool? And I mean super über crazy cool. Flash back to the early 90s, when Mum would practically dip my brother and I in sunscreen, and force us into wearing the dorkiest hats ever. A certain fluro colour block cap complete with black flap comes to mind. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the sun-smart education that was drilled into me from a very young age (the red hair and pasty skin may indeed have something to do with that), but it's the photographs that scare me.

Fast forward to 2014, where we're celebrating the comeback of the hat. And it's thanks to labels like Lack of Color that we're now able to be sun-smart and appear effortlessly cool at the same time (who would've guessed?), minus the hefty price tag of, say, this one. While I've only just begun my collection of fedoras (though I've been wearing this one via Peace by Piece for a while), I have a feeling you'll be seeing more than just The Mirage here on Lion in the Wild.
