BEAUTY SPOT: DERMALOGICA COVER TINT
It's no secret that Dermalogica has a sparkling reputation as one of the top skin care specialists in, well, the world. Unfortunately, adult acne is no stranger to me, yet I haven't had one breakout since I started using Dermalogica's Skin Kit over a month ago. In fact, I've had two zits (yes, two) over the last few weeks or so: the first after almost a day's worth of air travel (totally doesn't count) and the second this morning (thankfully before I shot this post). Another small victory for women everywhere. But, I hear you ask, what about their beauty based products?
Let me make myself clear; I say 'beauty based' because the Dermalogica tints aren't just for coverage and concealing, but does a whole lot of other awesome things, which you can read all about here. My favourite, of course, is that it protects skin from those damned UV rays, making this the perfect tint for days in the sun (ahem, at the beach). While I absolutely love the feel of the Cover Tint, which comes complete with an application sponge, the 'light' shade isn't nearly as light as I'd need sans fake tan. And while it is marketed as 'full coverage', it is important to note that it is still a tint and therefore doesn't provide anywhere near as much coverage as, let's say, the Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation.
So, would I recommend the Dermalogica Cover Tint SPF 20? Certainly. In fact, if you see me at the beach this coming public holiday, I'll be tricking everyone into thinking I have the most glowing natural-looking skin ever. Even #indithecat approves (see below).
