THE LAST DAY OF SUMMER

These photographs were taken in the afternoon outside the iconic Raffles Hotel, just before we jumped in a taxi bound for the airport. It was our last day in Singapore, which we spent eating copious amounts of chicken rice and sipping on Singapore Slings. As I braced for the below-freezing temperatures of Hokkaido, our final destination the following day, I decided to make the most of our limited warm weather wearing a couple of items left in my suitcase that weren't going to see the light of day for a few weeks.

Fresh and feminine colour combinations with my usual leather accents made up my last look of the day in Singapore (at least for the time being). As per usual, it was the clever details of these items that caught my eye; the vegan leather cut-outs of the Shilla top and the appliqué of the Three of Something mauve skirt. I've said it once, twice, three times, but I'll say it again: these Aussie labels sure know good design.

The next day I was wearing multiple layers of thermals, with snow in my hair and a takeaway cappuccino in hand, knowing full well I wasn't to see the sun in a while.
