The Past Three Weeks in Summer

Things have brightened up a lot over on the @lioninthewild Instagram, and not just because I changed the filter.

________

These past few weeks now seem like a warm haze as I listen to the rain beating down outside and slowly (but surely) recover from a menacing head cold, wishing that I could go back to one of the two summer drenched destinations.

As you know, the first was tropical Bali, Indonesia, where Brad and I experienced (and photographed!) a few of The Luxe Nomad's beautiful stays. While our days were mostly spent creating amazing content for Lion in the Wild, we did get a chance to sit back and relax, cocktail in hand, for just a moment.

A brief few nights at home (where I managed to somehow catch said head cold in typical Kiara-fashion), I was up again at 3:00AM on a Saturday to begin the long drive north to Kalbarri, located on Western Australia's Coral Coast. With two cars and eight lovely ladies, you could say it was the ultimate girls' road trip. Between Perth and Kalbarri, the temperature rose by 20-odd degrees, given we did leave the city well before sunrise. It was a weekend of sunshine, beaches and stunning midwest scenery enjoyed with some of my absolute favourite people.

I cannot wait to share with you everything that we've been up to over the last few weeks, from Bali to Kalbarri. Never in a million years would I have thought that I'd be so lucky as to experience all that I do and furthermore share it with such a savvy (ahem, and stylish) audience here on Lion in the Wild. And now, to drinking copious amounts of coffee(!) as I glue myself to my iMac for the next few weeks of editing, writing and creating.
