A Summer Evening at the Beach

There are few things I enjoy more than being down at the beach on a warm summer evening and this week was no exception. It’s the first week of summer, so naturally this is just the very beginning of our coastal escapades over the coming few months. Quite frankly, it’s the very best way to cool down after a hot day, and goodness knows the temperatures have been extreme recently. Yesterday it was a boiling 41°C. Yikes.

Putting my feet in the cool water of the Indian Ocean isn’t the only benefit of our little beach sessions either; it’s just so relaxing and calming and soothing, especially at this time of the year when we’re working 7-days a week from 5:30AM to 9:30PM, if we’re lucky (at least I’m still passionate about getting my 8-hours sleep).

And to think, this time last year I was in South Africa, about to fly home to Perth and then back to Switzerland, while also juggling our usual work. I guess that’s why they call it burn out season — or is that just me? I’m so grateful for the year I’ve had, where I’ve learnt to take a step back and make time for myself. It makes me appreciate being able to have calm moments like this at the beach even more so. Heck, they make me far more productive and motivated anyway, so it’s time gained really.

With that said, I’m off. It’s back to work for me as we prep our final sets of content for 2019. I’m so freaking excited to show you what we have planned. It’s going to be epic.
