Knitted Vests, Oversized Shirts and Chunky Boots

I wonder how many times I’ve written the words ‘Chunky Boots’ in a headline. A lot is my best guess. Black boots have been a staple in my wardrobe for an age, but they seem to have only got heavier and chunkier as time goes by. Heck, once upon a time I thought my Balenciaga’s were outrageous, but now that’s just the standard. Ever since I purchased these Alias Mae boots, I actually have to convince myself to occasionally wear my other shoes.

In other fashion trend news, knitted vests (formally known as waistcoats) are here to stay, especially as it only gets colder and colder here in Australia. I suppose one of the good things about having those pesky postpartum hot flashes is that I can get away with light layers and bare legs still. I wonder how long that will last?

I’ve layered an oversized knit vest over my favourite white shirt (I also have it in cream ‘cause it’s amazing), and styled them with black accessories and a broad brim hat. Truth be told, I’ve repeated this look a dozen times in varying combinations and I’m here for it.

Well, the sun seems to have finally peeped through the clouds, at least for the time being, so I’m off to make myself another coffee, get ready and enjoy the day. Au revoir!
