Trending: Colourful Striped Knitwear

LOCATION: Hakuba, Japan

What a week it has been! I have actually just arrived home from Japan, but a different trip from the one you see on this blog post. To be able to go back to my favourite country twice in a month is beyond surreal to me. While I recently spent a few days eating as much ramen as possible in Tokyo (you can see it all unfold on the @lioninthewild Instagram), Brad and I find ourselves back in the ultimate winter wonderland, Hakuba Valley, a month past.

A reoccurring theme over the the past several weeks has not only been travelling to colder destinations, but the go-to styles I've been wearing keep me warm (and I'm not talking about thermals, although they were definitely a daily essential). There's no doubt that my knitted jumper collection has been 'magically' growing during this time and the stand-out style to me is the striped, colour-blocked sweater.

I'm not going to lie, wearing numerous saturated colours at the same time would've had me running for the hills not that long ago, but as it turns out, when it's the right combination of hues and shades, it's kinda' fabulous. Surprisingly, it's the chic and modern version of rocking a full blown rainbow (not that there is anything wrong with that!). 🌈

An eye-catching, colourful and bold style, the knit can be styled down with a pair of boyfriend jeans or elevated with a trendy patent leather skirt. The best part? Even though the weather may be cold and overcast, it'll just make you feel happy, uplifted and cheerful. Yes please! 😄

I'm wearing:

Stradivarius striped sweater (sold out – similar jumper here), Abrand jeans, ASOS cap and mittensStatus Anxiety bag and Windsor Smith combat boots.
