HOME SWEET HOME

I'm not going to lie, I did start writing this post at 4:30AM today. And not due to a sudden burst of early morning inspiration unfortunately, but because of the inevitable jet lag sustained after suffering a 16-hour time change. Luckily I'm a morning person as no doubt by 7:30PM I'll be passed out on the couch leaving Brad with the task of lugging me to bed (though never before washing my face and brushing my teeth).

And while the hot summer sun can have an undesired sluggish effect (not helping the anti-jet lag cause) I couldn't help but spend yesterday at the beach, especially after almost two-months without feeling the sun on my body. Is it crazy that one of the things I missed the most about home while in Canada was the sun? It's something we take for granted in Perth with over 300 days of sunshine yearly. So, you can imagine why I was so ecstatic just to be able to read the latest Harper's Bazaar with the sand between my toes and the sun working its vitamin D magic.

I bought this striped shirt from H&M in Vancouver knowing its transeasonal potential. It felt perfectly effortless with my One Teaspoon cut-offs, Wayfarers, wool hat and Sportsgirl Body Bronzer (like I said, I haven't seen the sun in a while!). I can also see the shirts' possibility to transition from day to night, so expect it to appear several times here on Lion in the Wild.

Whether I spend the following days at the beach or with family and friends (or perhaps both), it sure is nice to be home sweet home.
