PLAID FOR FALL 2013
I've had this plaid shirt for some time now and just when I thought it had run its course up pops the Chanel Pre Fall 2013 runway described by Style.com as 'dress to kilt'. Enough said. Tartan is a fabric that continually moves around the fashion cycle (I'm talking since 100BC - yeah, that's a lot of history), reinvented with each spin, though often associated with a culture of youth rebellion.
I'm fond of pairing plaid items with uber chic accessories - a fusion of casual daytime and formal evening looks creating a modern edginess. However, as these hot summer days become less I expect the streets to fully adopt tartan in its true 90s grunge style (we've already seen it tied around the waist), but still perhaps with a sense of 21st century glamour.
