The Perfect Striped Top and Skinny Jeans

Stocking up on high quality basics from Shopbop.

If you've been a reader here for a little while now, then you would know that my wardrobe is packed full of great basics. They're the ones I reach for every single day; the pieces I'll wear over and over again until they're practically falling apart at the seams (literally). Of course, the longer they last, the better, which is why I've been investing in good quality basics this year.

This outfit is no exception either. I did a bit of splurge on Shopbop recently (blame it on my ever-lasting and very lengthy wish list - oops) and have already worn this outfit more than a few times. The striped boxy pullover, with its loose sleeves and mid-weight jersey fabric, has been deemed my new go-to everyday top to multiple people (yep, when I like something I tend to brag about it!).

And I finally splurged on the Acne Skin 5 jeans, which I've discovered are worth every penny. Alas, they're the best fitting (and most flattering) pair of skinny denim jeans I've ever had. Oh yes, they're that good.

I know for a fact that I'm going to be wearing them for many years to come, so don't be surprised if you see their perfectly faded black selves around here more than a few times. Actually, scrap that, you'll be seeing them more than a dozen times in the least, let's be honest.

I couldn't help but add these classic ankle strap pumps to my cart too, as I'd been looking for something just like them for quite some time. And you know what? I'm pleasantly surprised by just how comfy they are for such a high heel.

With a pop of red and a few of my usual everyday pieces (the 3.1 Phillip LimPashli bag included), this has got to be one of my favourite outfits lately, and not just due to the fact that I'm actually kind of in-love with every single piece, but also because they work so damn well together.

I'm wearing: Knot Sisters stripe top, Acne Studios Skin 5 jeans and Kendall + Kylie ankle strap pumpsRay-Ban sunglasses and MAC Matte Lipstick in Mangrove and Maybelline Color Show 60 Seconds Nail Polish in Power Red.
