HOW TO WORK FROM HOME, FASHIONABLY

If you've missed the few hints offered on Instagram and Twitter then you wouldn't know that since arriving back from my travels I've been working from home (you know, chasing my dreams and stuff). And while completely avoiding peak hour traffic may sound dreamy, the whole working from home thing does pose its challenges, perhaps more so than working from, well, work. Loss of productivity and lack of motivation are just two of many problems I have and will face. In my pursuit so far I've found the absolute best solution to be routine.

I believe one of the most important parts of my routine to be the transition from home life to work life, at home. Yes, sitting like a duck on the freeway sucks, but it actually helps in creating this transition - your mind knows you're going to work. So, how the heck does somebody working from home generate this shift? Simply by getting ready because who goes to work wearing pajamas (apart from Hugh Hefner)?

And the best aspect of this particular part of my routine is that I get to wear what I want. Sure, somedays I'll don office-appropriate attire, but if I want to wear a Stussy singlet reminiscent of Life of Pi and One Teaspoon cut-offs, who's to say no? So my point is, while I don't have a boss breathing down my neck to force me to get the work done (this is a surefire productivity increaser), I don't have a dress code except my own (hooray!).
